Dr Sebastian Wieczorek

Sebastian Wieczorek received his M.Sc. degree in Theoretical Physics from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland, in 1998, and PhD. degree in Mathematical Physics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in 2002. In June 2006, following a 3.5 year of postdoctoral experience at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, he was appointed Lecturer in Applied Mathematics at University of Exeter, UK.
Research Interests
- bifurcation theory:
global homoclinic and heteroclinic bifurcations,
high-codimension bifurcations as organising centres,
stochastic bifurcations
-modelling and nonlinear dynamics of lasers:
optically driven lasers,
lasers with optical feedback,
laser arrays,
lasers coupled to optical nanostructures,
lasers with quantum coherence
