I'm co-director of the NERC Centre for Doctoral Training UNRISK (Understanding Uncertainty to Reduce Climate Risks), hosted between Leeds, Exeter and UCL.
Current available projects for September 2026 start:
Reducing uncertainty in land surface model projections
Exploring uncertainty due to clouds in modelled future climate change systematically
Research interests: emulating and history matching (calibrating) expensive computer models with high-dimensional input and output spaces, discrepancies between models and observations, environmental modelling, communicating uncertainty, statistical modelling, machine learning
See Research Outputs tab and Google Scholar for publications.
Recent work has covered a wide range of applications, including volcanic ash disperion, land surface modelling, air quality, Covid-19, and agent based modelling.
