Profile
Dr Jon Moore
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Dr Jon Moore is a Postdoctoral Research Associate working with Prof Peter Cox, as part of the Climate Science for Service Partnership (CSSP) Brazil Project funded by the Met Office.
My work involves improving the current Vegetation Model used by the Met Office in its Climate Models. Our group is working on a new Dynamic Global Vegetation Model called RED (Robust Ecosystem Demography). My role is to develop analytical solutions to the governing RED differential equation. As well as being an interesting theory, this will allow much reduced initialisation times for RED and aid validating RED with forest inventory data.
I will be validating the analytical version of the model equations against the Amazon RAINFOR forest inventory data.
