I am a PhD student in the Centre for Systems, Dynamics, and Control here at the University of Exeter. Before starting my PhD, I completed a BSc (Hons) Physics and Mathematics from the University of St Andrews and an MSc Theoretical Physics from King's College London. During my summers, I took part in research at the University of Richmond, USA, in systems biology with Dr Ovidiu Lipan and grew fond of the field. This fondness encouraged me to apply for PhD positions in mathematical biology and I was very pleased to accept a position with Prof. Krasimira Tsaneva-Atanasova working on modelling the connection between circadian rhythms on a molecular level and pacemaker neuron activity using coupled phase oscillator descriptions. Along with my secondary supervisor, Dr Christian Bick, our goal is to incorporate both coupled oscillator theory and data from Drosophila, and eventually mammals, to elucidate fascinating mathematical and biological properties of these multi-layered and dynamic networks.

Outside of my research at Exeter, I am still very interested in theoretical physics and stochastic modelling of molecular networks (e.g., GRNs). I also enjoy spending my free time playing tennis and exploring the countrysides of Devon and Cornwall.
