Dr Julio Andrade
Associate Professor
Mathematics and Statistics
Julio Andrade is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at the University of Exeter, where he also serves as the Stage Coordinator for undergraduate Pure Mathematics modules. He received his PhD in Mathematics from the University of Bristol in 2012 under the supervision of Prof Jon Keating, FRS and Prof Nina Snaith.
Before arriving at Exeter, he held research positions at several leading international institutions, including the Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics (ICERM) at Brown University (USA), where he was an Institute Postdoctoral Fellow; the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques (IHÉS, France), where he was a William Hodge Fellow; and the University of Oxford (UK), where he was a Senior Researcher in Number Theory.
His research lies at the interface of analytic number theory, random matrix theory, and mathematical physics. He is particularly interested in the arithmetic and analytic properties of zeta functions and L-functions over number fields and function fields, their moments and value distribution, and their deep connections with random matrix theory. He also works on problems in analysis motivated by number theory, with applications to combinatorics and mathematical physics.
