Dr Stephen Thomson (He/Him)
Senior Lecturer
Mathematics and Statistics
My research focuses on the large-scale atmospheric dynamics of planetary atmospheres, including Earth. I've worked on a variety of topics, including the interaction of moist convection and jet streams on Jupiter, polar vortices on Mars, and atmospheric teleconnections on Earth. I'm also a principal developer of the Isca climate modelling framework.
I'm often looking for new PhD students and postdocs to join my group, so if you're interested then please do get in touch.
You can find me on Twitter, ResearchGate, and GitHub. I also have a website with more information about me and my group.
