My research focuses on carbon-climate feedbacks, using coupled atmosphere-ocean-land surface Earth system models. I am particularly interested in the coupling between climate change and the carbon and nitrogen cycles in permafrost and high-latitude regions.
I have joined the CALIPSO project at the University of Exeter as a postdoctoral researcher, with the aim of improving the representation of carbon losses in Earth system models.
During my PhD, I have contributed to develop a new version of the Institut Pierre-Simon Laplace Earth system model, including key permafrost physical and biogeochemical processes, as well as an explicit land nitrogen cycle. I have used this model to study the interactions between climate and the carbon and nitrogen cycles, both over the historical period and under future climate change scenarios.
