I am a PhD student interested in time-stepping schemes for weather and climate prediction, specifically approaches to time-stepping with physics processes. The advent of massively parallel supercomputers is prompting a re-think in time-stepping algorithms and phyiscs-dynamics coupling techniques. I am working on investigating different approaches to time-stepping with physics in a moist shallow water model, where the dynamics are computationally cheap but the moist processes present interesting numerical challenges.

I graduated from the University of Limerick in the summer of 2020 with a BSc in Mathematics and Physics.

I am part of the NERC GW4+ Doctoral Training Partnership. My supervisors are Dr Jemma Shipton and Prof Beth Wingate in Exeter, and Dr Ben Shipway at the Met Office.
