I am a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. I am working on understanding monsoon dynamics and biases in the representation of monsoons in climate models, with a focus on the Asian and West African Monsoons. My research interests are in climate science/climate modelling: I obtained my PhD from the University of Exeter where I studied changes in tropical precipitation in a changing climate, with a focus on land-atmosphere interactions using an idealised global circulation model (Isca). Upon completing my PhD, I studied changes in the South-East Asian monsoon, before moving on to a postdoc position in Norway, where I investigated impacts of aerosol emissions on tropical pacific sea surface temperatures in NorESM2. For my master’s thesis I compared oceanic transports through the main gateways into the Arctic Ocean from an ocean reanalysis product (C-GLORS) to in-situ observations.
