Mathematics and Statistics

Dr. May Chim is an Earth scientist specialising in climate modelling, climate-volcano interactions, and atmospheric chemistry. She is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Exeter working with Professor James Haywood.

Her research focuses on understanding the effects of volcanic sulfate aerosols on climate. She explores the complex interactions between climate and volcanoes. Her research aims to understand how volcanic aerosols and climate-volcano feedbacks affect climate projections and climate extremes, using state-of-the-art models and data analysis.
