Mathematics and Statistics

Julio Andrade is currently an associate professor at the University of Exeter. He obtained his PhD in 2012 at the University of Bristol under the supervision of Prof. Jon Keating and Dr. Nina Snaith.

Before arriving at Exeter he was a Postdoctoral Institute Fellow at the Institute for Computational and Experimental Research in Mathematics (ICERM) - Brown University (USA), a William Hodge Fellow at the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques (IHÉS - France), and a Senior Researcher in Number Theory at the University of Oxford (UK).

His research is focused on number theory, random matrix theory and mathematical physics. He is also interested in questions in analysis motivated by number theory. His interest in mathematics is wide-ranging, and his research focuses on the theory of zeta functions and function fields with applications to number theory, combinatorics, and mathematical physics.

Research Interests

  • Analytic Number Theory
  • Number Theory in Function Fields
  • Mean Values of L-functions
