I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Strauss lab, investigating the interaction of neuroimmune system with neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. This work is in conjunction with the Cellular and Gene editing group, Wellcome Trust Sanger center and the Open Targets "NeuroImmune: An integrated approach to understand immune responses across neurodegenerative diseases" project.
My research topics include single-cell transcriptomics, spatial transcriptomics (Aviti Teton Atlas DISS) and polygenic risk scores / rare variant analysis for neurodegenerative disease cohorts and iPSCs.
I have extensive experience in the NHS in areas including molecular epidemiology (Health Protection Agency, 2008-2012) and human molecular genetics / bioinformatics (Royal Devon & Exeter NHS trust, 2013-2017). This has included training and examiniation of STP clinical scientists in bioinformatics and the development of the 2022 Clinical Bioinformatics STP curriculum with the National School of Healthcare Sciences.
