Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Mathematics and Statistics

I obtained my Integrated Master’s degree in Physics from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata in 2017 and completed my PhD in Physics at the Living Systems Institute, University of Exeter, in 2024. Following my PhD, I worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Living Systems Institute from August 2024 to July 2025. I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Exeter.

I am an interdisciplinary experimental researcher working at the interface of electrophysiology, neuroscience, biophysics, optical biosensing and single-molecule detection.

During my PhD, I developed optoplasmonic whispering-gallery-mode (WGM) sensing approaches for the label-free detection and characterisation of neurotransmitters at the single-molecule level. My research combined optical sensing with electrophysiological techniques, including patch-clamp electrophysiology and electrical field stimulation, to investigate neurotransmitter release and molecular interactions relevant to neuronal signalling.
