Postgraduate Researcher
Mathematics and Statistics

Charles (Charlie) Turrell is a 2nd year NERC GW4+ Doctoral Training Partnership PhD student. Charlie is supervised internally at the University of Exeterby Dr Stephen Thomson, Prof James Screen, and Dr Will Seviour, and he is also supervised by Dr Doug Smith of the Met Office.

Charlie's broad research interest is studying the atmospheric response to amplified polar climate change. More specifically, Charlie is interested in the latitudinal shift of jet streams due to polar amplification, and is presently investigating the 'Eddy Feedback Parameter' as a metric of analysing the eddy-driven jets.
